In 2003 I started photographing anything and everything I could.  In 2012 I became a photographer full time and swore I'd never have a desk job again. Technically I do sit at my desk to edit photos, but I can jump up to make my child a snack, walk our pup or pull some weeds, so it still counts. And I'm thankful for it all, every day.

I'm Alexandrea Lassiter. Photographer, mama, wife, environmentalist, maker, homesteader, traveler and lover of life. My hubby is a full-time musician/teacher, photographer, activist, lover of all things outdoors. Our son enriches our lives, keeps us laughing and playing, learning and loving.

I grew up in Durham, NC and left to explore the world for a while.  I came back to this area with the hopes of finding a partner in life and art.  In 2014 my very own southern gentleman made me the happiest lady in the world. He said he'd like to settle down, have a munchkin and plant a huge garden...and the rest is history in the making.

We spend our days feeling thankful for the opportunities we have to make art and spend time with our family.  We get to do what we love for a living and we don't ever take it for granted.

Photography isn't a career for me - I'm a photographer - it's in my blood and I wouldn't ever want to live without it.  That moment when you see your client really smile for the first time - when everything melts away and you capture a tiny piece of who they really are - I'll never get tired of that.

We only get one turn around this rock and I intend to enjoy this one to the fullest!  If I can make some magic happen with a digital camera, a little light and lot of love for my craft and the people I photograph, then I think that's a life worth living.

Thanks for stopping by!

Safe Space For Everyone!

My family and I are very passionate about our world turning into an inclusive loving space for EVERYONE! I am very open about my progressive politics. My family and I believe that every human has the right to respect, love, and the best life they can live! We are here to support, love, empower and uplift. We are allies of LGBTQ+inlusion and equality. I have been fortunate enough to collaborate with non-binary and queer artists, meeting my personal goal of providing more representation in the art I produce.

We try to improve ourselves, be kind to others, make good decisions for our communities and our planet, and we love being surrounded by people who have similar goals.
