Who books these types of shoots? Everyone.

Musicians, bands, creative humans who want to express themselves, families who want something very different for their holiday cards, business owners who don’t want a boring headshot, empowered humans who want to tell a story…

Have a great idea? Let’s talk! Have a sort of great idea, and a definite need? Let’s talk! The more my clients trust me and collaborate with me and have a great time with this process, the better the work we produce together.

When Kat called me, I asked about her interests, what she loves to do just for herself. A love of classic literature, childlike wonder and fantasy. Perfect! Alice in Wonderland has always been an obsession of mine and it seemed a good fit for the album Kat was promoting. Working with Kat is a dream! She can envision so many things and says yes to my most extravagant ideas. Brain storming with her is like being a kid in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. With our theme set, I went into my own rabbit hole of props and bits and bobs, vintage books, old lace…ordered a few things to top of my vision and voila.

With prop variations alone, no change in outfit, we were able to create many different stories at the same location, within a short amount of time (it was freezing for our shoot so many wardrobe swaps was not in her best interest). We were both super happy with the art we made together that day. Happily we continue to work together as Kat produces more wicked tracks!

What’s your fantasy photo shoot?

Let’s make some art together!

Couples

sliding scale $175-425

The story of love is always fascinating to me because it is so singular. Every couple has their inside jokes, their own language, those little things that make two people one. You both have yourselves and you’ve found that you shine brighter together.

The images we capture are a small reflection of that light.

Here’s how we make the magic happen:

Shoot me a text and we will set up a time to chat about you and your partner and the vibe you have in mind. We pick a location (or two) together and schedule your session.

This couple wanted movement shots that reflect their playful love. The fall leaves and native flowers of NC were popping so we took a short hike and wrapped at a nearby field, all bursting with natural beauty.

Everyone has a favorite season, spot to go where they feel best, clothing that makes them feel special. What’s your story and how can I help you tell it?

Let’s make sure you feel happy and beautiful and comfortable. Let’s talk about how you would like to make that happen. This gorgeous couple decided that they wanted something super low key. We found a beautiful field that we could pretty much park right next to. Short sweet session and we were done. They got the photos they wanted and it was a delightful hang. Let’s keep it calm and magical - you’re busy growing a human after all!

Portrait Session

This shoot with Ryan was done on a rainy day in Saxapahaw. We weren’t sure if the rain would change our plans, but the light was perfect so we jumped in. The adventure, taking chances and chasing the light - that’s where the magic happens. Organic, slow, and intimate, one on one sessions allow for us to truly explore creating beautiful art together. These are the things that make for great images and a truly special collaboration.

The more adventurous the idea/location, the more exciting the images. If you are ready to hike up a giant hill to see the sun set and help carry some gear up that hill with me, I am so stoked and ready to go!

Calm rolling meadows, creeks and walking paths, the downtowns of Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh…we have so many beautiful backdrops here in North Carolina, and I’ve enjoyed photographing them all. Let’s chat about your vision and come up with a session that’s unique to you and your story.

Kiddos

sliding scale $175-425

I love children.

The character in black and white up there? Yep he’s mine. He’s creative and silly, serious and passionate, a total love bug and one of my favorite humans. I bet you feel the same about your little ones and I’d love to meet them!

I capture the silly and the posed. I like for each session to have some stunning shots for you to frame and put on Xmas cards etc. But my main objective is to tell the story of your amazing human as they are at this moment in time, right now.

We laugh, we play, we go at their pace. Kids are smart. They need to get to know me before they open up. That’s more than ok, that’s great! I’m new and I have to earn their trust. It’s an honor when a kiddo decides they can share their secret fairy hiding tree or tell me about the stuffed animal they just can’t let go of. Hopefully it feels like a play date, not a photo session. When kids are genuinely having a great time, we can feel it in the photos.

Send me a text or give me a call and we can start planning. Outfits, locations, themes. We can get as crazy as you’d like - Hogwarts? Yes please! Fairy? Yep. Plash paint and dance party? I’ve got you covered. Let’s play!

Golden hour in a field in some “weeds”

Magic is found off the beaten path

Uncle Johnny put the boat and the paddle in the stream. Little man put his daddy’s favorite T shirt on (he knows it makes daddy happy because that’s where he went to school). The “rapids” were treacherous. He conquered his fear and made it to shore.

Creek - 2 ft. deep max. Rapids - small handcrafted “dam” of stones lazily replaced after every big rain. It’s a jungle out there.

Headshots

sliding scale $175-425

Headshots are not what they used to be. This session with Renee of Lotus Seed Lifestyles @lotusseedlifestyles is a great example of how we achieved professional headshots that are in line with how she would like to present herself, and aren’t too traditional.

Let’s talk about your brand, how you want to present to your client base and what vibe you’d like us to actualize.

Family Sessions

sliding scale $175-425

Let’s tell your story. We will get some posed shots that you can use to make the Grandparents happy, but we will mostly focus on playing and capturing the love and the best golden light we can. Let’s pick a spot and a date and make some magic happen!

Also I love props. Kelsey and her crew are outdoorsy folks and every year she and I make her kiddo pose with pumpkins. I think he might even smile about it this year ;)

Events

$200/hr with a 2 hour minimum.

I can’t wait to hear about your plans! How many guests? What venue have you chosen? What are your photography goals for the occasion? Shoot me a text or give me a call!

We planned to capture portraits in the Rose garden before the party. When I arrived and saw the giant storm clouds gathering, I knew we had to move quickly. Because this amazing sweet 16 year old would like to be a model one day, we were able to create a whole story, photograph her with her friends and a few family members - all in 15 minutes. Kiddos safely back on the shuttle, me just slamming the door to my car - the sky opened up and the rains fell. What a rush. Brave girl. I hope she gets her wish. I think she’s got a lot of talent.

Special Events - giving back

Do you have a fundraiser and you need a photographer but can’t afford to pay them much? Text me. If I like what you’re doing I will cut you an amazing deal. This fundraiser was for The Carolina Abortion Fund in partnership with Carolina Comrades - an organization we started to raise funds for social justice issues.

Snack time after our session had wrapped. One of my favorite shots of the day.
